On behalf of the Uganda Library and Information Association (ULIA) Executive, the ULIA Central Representative had the opportunity to serve as one of the guests at the Kyambogo University Library and Information Science Students Association (KYULISSA). During his address, he highlighted the impact of the Association in nurturing future information professionals and encouraged students to embrace professionalism, active participation, and continuous learning within the field.
The chief guest, Mr. Mubiru, the Higher Education Officer at the Uganda National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), emphasized the importance of collaboration among students, institutions, and professional bodies. He also underscored the value of students taking up leadership roles, noting that such involvement significantly contributes to personal growth, career development, and readiness for the dynamic information landscape.
The visit was marked by engaging discussions and interaction with students, who demonstrated great enthusiasm and commitment to the library and information science profession. Participants appreciated the insights shared by the guests and expressed motivation to actively participate in association activities, strengthen their professional networks, and contribute meaningfully to the development of the information sector in Uganda.
